1. Operations Manager· Conservation and Environmental protection role.· Autonomous role working from home Min. 10 hours, up to 20-30h per week· Make a real difference. The OrganisationThe Chinese Conservation Education Trust (CCET) is to foster a love and understanding of New Zealand’s special places, plants and animals. We are a group of individuals dedicated to bringing conservation to the Chinese living in New Zealand. The objectives of the CCET are: To work with government agents to educate the general Chinese public living in New Zealand about conservation and environment protection through activities. To raise funds for Chinese conservation awareness programmes. To act as a liaison with conservation organisations in New Zealand and Asia. To enhance relationship and understanding between the Chinese and the mainstream, subsequently create the sense of beginning a community and creating harmony. You must be fluent in both English and Mandarin to be considered for this role. The RoleThis newly created role has been established to enable our current founder to take more of a leadership in governance role. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and delivering (with the Operations Co-Ordinator) the day-to-day running of CCET. This includes managing the funding, engaging with key stakeholders, the administration of the Trust, and facilitation of workshops. The role is responsible for one part-time direct report and will report to the Board. Key responsibilities of the role include:· Create and submit funding applications to appropriate funders to secure funding for CCET, communicating with funders and providing reports. · Communicate with CCET’s Treasurer, Accountant, and Auditor. · Ensure invoices are sent to funders and follow up if payments are not made.· Ensure all expenses are paid on or before they are due. · Work with Accountant to answer queries from Auditor.· Write accountability report to the funders at the end of each financial year.· Make sure commitments are met on or before they are due.· Do annual returns, ensuring that our accounts are audited, completed and submitted to the relative agencies on-time.· Write a report for the trustee board and attend CCET board meeting.· Facilitate workshops with key stakeholders and the community. · Plan & supervise workshops.· Oversee website development & social media services. · Ensure calendar is kept up to date with meetings and events. · Lead and role model a culture of zero harm through effective risk management and consultation with your team regarding all health and safety matters · Create a H&S plan for each activity undertaken This role will work from home, but will need to be available to attend meetings with key stakeholders and funders, who are based in Auckland. This role will require you to work flexible hours, including weekends. About you· A relevant degree e.g. Commerce.· Administration experience· Workshop facilitation experience· Ideally working for a charitable trust, NFP, NGO or similar organisation.· Experience securing funding / working with government agencies.· Excellent communication (written and verbal) in both English and Mandarin. · High levels of organisation. · Attention to detail· Skilled at using Microsoft Office tools.· Current driver’s license · Passion for the environment. · Openness to learn and take feedback.· A willingness to help and turn your hand to different things.

Key responsibilities of the role include:· Assist the Operations Manager to facilitate workshops with key stakeholders and the community. · Assist with the organising, planning and preparation of workshops. · Write reports regularly on activities within the Trust.· Create and maintain policies and procedures.· Assist with funder meetings.· Communicate as appropriate with funders. · Co-ordinate and manage shared calendar. · Maintain a good understanding of the Trust’s contracts and commitments.· Ensure your safety and the safety of those around you by complying with all safe work practices, policies, procedures and instructions. · Make sure H&S policy is delivered before each activity starts. This role will work from home, but will need to be available to attend meetings with key stakeholders and funders, who are based in Auckland. This role will require you to work flexible hours, including delivering workshops across Auckland and on some weekends. Hours will be varied, and we anticipate this to be around 20 hours per week, but fluctuating from 10-30 hours per week.
